India August 2025
A dream come true, a whole month in India! What a truely incredible country, total sensory overload in the best possible way. So many different experiences from the sights, sounds, smells and tastes which were all mixed in with the history, architecture, religions celebrations and the truely beautiful peoples that make up India.
The organisation of the trip was second to none ( Julia you are my hero!) Our guides were incredibly informative, we never felt hurried and they went out of their way to accommodate our wishes. The food was amazing, allergies catered for.
This country is an absolute must, your heart will come back full!

What an adventure!! Our journey through India surpassed any expectations I could have dreamed of having. I arrived home exhausted with my heart full to bursting.
The contrasts, extremes, chaos and calm. Every sense captivated!

India 2025, a month away? How would I cope, would I survive??? Yes, yes and yes again. I went for a month and every day was an adventure. The trip was very well thought out and planned. It was in four parts ; the culture and history of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Wonderful temples and historic sites. But for me it was the people. I had wonderful conversations with and without a common language. What was common was the laughter and love of the land.
We then went to Fragrant Nature where we were soothed and pampered, it was wonderful. The change of pace was most welcome. The few days spent on a riverboat on the backwaters added to the experience and illustrated the vastness of the country. Rishikesh was our last stop – wow, the Ganges, the Himalayan foot hills, magical. At every step, Julia was there to help and guide. If you can do this, I urge you try. x
Suzy Merrifield –
What an incredible trip! My husband and I took part in 3 sections on offer, the Golden Triangle, the Kerela Ayurveda retreat and the backwater tour. I am still trying to process everything we have seen and done as the colours, smells and sights were just out of this world! Seeing the Taj Mahal at sunrise…I still have to pinch myself! Julia made everything so seamless and thoroughly enjoyable. I will remember it forever and treasure the memories and the connections I made there. In my mind I will always be able to return to the complete sense of peace I felt on the retreat whenever I feel overwhelmed. Thank you Julia! X

Second time I have visited the entrancing Fragrant Nature site, having just returned from India. Fragrant Nature is a perfect example of Ayurveda in practice, the site is so very welcoming and the staff are interactive and supporting at all times, accommodating guests’ needs as they are received.
Food was really very good and the site pristine. Defy anyone not to love their experience at Fragrant Nature.

Wow! Definitely worth a trip. I felt very well cared for and looked after and welcomed during this trip. Julia is a lovely host and seemed to think of everything! The staff were also very hospitable and I felt very much at home in this calm, serene environment. My everyday worries just dissipated and I was finally able to live moment to moment, savouring the delicious food and amazing treatments as well as making new friendships. The retreat is set in a very special place and felt magical!
Nadia Lanman –
I had the most amazing time in Kerala and what was so therapeutic was that I felt like ‘me’ again. Swept up in the busyness of modern life I often feel totally overwhelmed and very anxious. In Kerela I’ll felt at peace and my body and mind had a chance to reset. Thank you so much Julia for making that possible. Your kindness and sense of humour really enabled me to feel at home. What amazing people the Keralan people are. They couldn’t do enough to please you.
I really hope that I can do it again at some point.
Julia Turner –
Thank you Julia for organising such a wonderful retreat with a group of lovely likeminded ladies. It had the perfect combination of yoga, Ayurvedic spa treatments and excursions which was most enjoyable. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the food delicious and the accommodation was very
comfortable. Thank you all for making it a trip of a lifetime. I feel totally rejuvenated and I would wholeheartedly recommend it.
Alison Walker –
Just returned from the most amazing holiday at Fragrant Nature Kollam with YogaVeda. I was up at 7 everyday for Yoga outside which was amazing, so tranquil. I had not done Yoga before, but I loved it. The place was wonderful in everyway, the food, the massages, the people. Thank you so much Julia for organising it and thank you to the rest of the group for being such lovely travelling companions.
Sally Claxton –
Went to Kerala with YogaVeda & lost my heart :). It was a wonderful experience. There was love & support from Julia. The food, the colours, the sheer spectacle that is India, was awesome.
I had a limited mobility & Yoga knowledge, I was concerned about the impact of this on me & my fellow traveller’s – I was walking with Alpine walking sticks. Everyone was so encouraging & supportive – it was like having my own cheer leading team. After 7 days with the Yoga practice, Ayurvedic treatments & use of the pool, I put the sticks away.
I’d like to recommend this 1000% – just don’t take my place on the next organised visit!!
Christine newlands –
I too have been to Fragrant Nature resort in Kerela. A beautiful place, oozing calmness and relaxation. Getting up early rewarded us with jaw dropping sunrises and gentle yoga with idyllic backdrops. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly, helpful and ensured that we had all we needed to have the best time.
The daily treatments were thorough professional and my skin felt like silk after. Would definitely recommend this experience

Just returned from the YogaVeda 2022 trip to Fragrant Nature resort and wellness centre in Paravur, Kerala. Had a fantastically relaxing but stimulating time away with early morning yoga guided by a local yoga master, followed by daily massages as prescribed. The massages were given at the Ayurvedic Spa centre set on the edge of the tranquil backwater.
Fabulous food at the restaurant. Met lots of interesting guests coming along to enjoy the beautiful setting.
Would recommend to anyone – Kerala and the centre is an absolute delight
